Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina, Inc.

The Kiwanis Cottage In 1964 the dedication ceremony for the North Carolina Kiwanis Cottage for boys was held on the campus at Boys Homes of North Carolina, Inc. at Lake Waccamaw.  From the beginning of their association, the Carolinas District Kiwanians have been strong supporters of Boys and Girls Homes through the cottage that bears the name Kiwanis.  The Carolinas District Family make individual member and club visits with the children in Kiwanis Cottage.  They make personal and club contributions, and take part in refurbishing and replacing items for the cottage when needed.  They also enjoy visiting with the children of the cottage on occasional off campus trips.

A special memorial/honor fund has been set up to give Kiwanis Family a special way to assist in providing funds for special repairs, capital additions, and capital replacements for the Kiwanis Cottage.  The principal is to be used only for the aforementioned purposes.  However, the earnings together with undesignated gifts, from the principal is used to help cover the costs of caring for the children in Kiwanis Cottage.
