GFWC-NC and Boys and Girls Homes of NC, Inc.  Before the merger of Boys Homes of North Carolina with Girls Haven of North Carolina, Boys Homes was approved as a state GFWC-NC project.  During the establishment of Girls Haven, GFWC-NC clubwomen were instrumental in providing many of the physical needs and offered support to the staff and residents.  The 1972-74 administration of GFWC-NC introduced and co-sponsored with others across North Carolina, a new project, Girls Haven.

Throughout the move to the Huntersville campus, members continued to provide financial assistance and maintain personal contact with the girls in residence.  Now, with the care of both boys and girls consolidated on the Lake Waccamaw campus, GFWC-NC continues its involvement in programs to improve the quality of life for all people, providing optimum opportunities for children and youth to reach their full potential.
