Stango Cottage

Stango Cottage, built as a result of a gift from Vincent Stango in memory of his wife Catherine Jordan Stango, her parents John J. and Nettie Parker Jordan, her sister Lucille Jordan Bell and her brother Richard Thomas Jordan, was dedicated September 5, 1996.  It is the last of the cottages erected for girls at Boys and Girls Homes.  Today it is home for eight girls.  Though not linked to a particular civic group, the cottage receives support from many Extension Cooperative Association Groups, Greater Federation of Women, Women's Civic League and churches.  Their gifts provide financial support for the operation of the cottage and encouragement to the children living in the cottage.  Click on the picture to see the inside of a "typical girls cottage."
