Huntersville Cottage

Huntersville Cottage, one of the original buildings on the Boys Home property at Lake Waccamaw, was converted to a cottage for girls in 1988 when the Huntersville, NC campus for girls was closed.  It was the first of the cottages for girls at the Lake Waccamaw campus.  Today it is home for eight girls.  Though not linked to a particular civic group, the cottage receives support from many Extension Cooperative Association Groups, Greater Federation of Women, Women's Civic League and churches.  Their gifts provide financial support for the operation of the cottage and encouragement to the children living in the cottage.  Click on the picture to see the inside of a "typical girls cottage."
