Chapel Service For The Children

An historic event happened in the Boys and Girls Homes Leamon Rogers Chapel on Sunday, January 13, 2002.  The first service of worship conducted for the children by Boys and Girls Homes Chaplain Mason Smith was held on this Sunday.  It was a glorious event.  Organist Jay Brooks performed a beautiful rendition of "Blessed Assurance" while Campbell University Choir member Jamie Sellers performed Michael W. Smith's "Above All."  The children participated by doing the acolyte duties and the morning prayer.  Vice-President for Childcare Becky Wray read the scripture and Chaplain Mason Smith presented an outstanding message as he talked to the children about "thieves" in their lives.  It was a wonderful service and gave a peek into the potential service to the children the chapel will provide.  Praises to all who were involved in its construction!

The order of worship for this first service of worship follows.
