Boys and Girls Homes of NC appreciates the efforts and support of the staff and management of Black's Tire Service and D&H Marketing in conducting a golf tournament benefiting Boys and Girls Homes and hosting the children and staff of the homes at the USAR Hooters Cup 250 Auto Race at Myrtle Beach Speedway.

On Friday, June 14, more than 130 golfers gathered at Myrtle Beach National Golf Course to participate in a golf tournament benefiting Boys and Girls Homes.  Many of the players were drivers and crews of the USAR auto racing teams and appeared to enjoy themselves on the west course at MBN.  John Malpass of Black's Tire Service hosted the event.  Lunch was provided by Jennie O's Turkey and refreshments were made available by workers from local Hooters' Restaurants.  Signs denoting the sponsors for each hole were placed on the tee boxes.  Thanks to the staff of Black's Tire, Jennie O, Hooters, and Myrtle Beach National for an outstanding event.

Saturday, June 15, Black's Tire Service hosted approximately 90 children and staff from Boys and Girls Homes at the Myrtle Beach Speedway for the Hooters Cup 250 USAR Auto Race.  Black's Tire provided everyone a delicious meal of burgers, hot dogs, beans and fixings prior to the race.  Upon entering the track, many of the children journeyed to the pit area to inspect the race cars and meet with the drivers and crews.  Most of the children came to the race with little knowledge of stock car racing but by race end, they were on their feet cheering on sentimental favorite Jason Sarvis, driver of the #22 Black's Tire entry!  During the pre-race ceremonies, Boys and Girls Homes Vice President for Finance Al Martin received a check in the amount of $6000 from the previous day's golf tourney.

Boys and Girls Homes is very appreciative of the kindness and generosity of Black's Tire, D&H Marketing and the numerous others who made these events possible.  Thanks everyone!
